Deconstructing Nathan

About the Film

Nathan Williams is a self-important playwright who puts on a new play, satirizing a notorious local gang boss. He is very proud of himself and basks in the admiration of his beautiful wife and his imagined fans. He unknowingly sets himself up for a cathartic experience, however.

Nathan Williams:

This reasonably accomplished playwright has a high opinion of himself and he loves flattery, with the slightly misguided idea that he is going to change the world.

Played by: Sebastian Matroos

Johan:

He is the muscle that contributes to Donovan de Ribeiro's fearsome reputation. Known ironically as 'The Philosopher', he regularly applies his violent philosophy on his master's opponents.

Played by: Buchanan Marais

Played by: Leon van der Merwe
